Royal Ascot is Britain’s premier sporting event and has been a traditional English institution since 1711. Taking place over a five day period, proceedings are televised in over 200 countries. Welcoming approximately 300,000 visitors across the event, including Her Majesty The Queen, this year’s event runs from Tuesday, 20th June – Saturday, 24th June.

Arguably the most important race meeting of the season, Royal Ascot is not just about betting on the horses, but about being seen – and what better way to be seen in than in Yardsmen’s Savile Row quality hirewear?

An incredibly sartorial affair, attending Royal Ascot means wearing the right attire. There are four enclosures at the course, each having a different dress code standard for gentlemen.

The Royal Enclosure has the most formal of dress codes, requiring either black or grey morning dress, a waistcoat, tie, black shoes and a top hat (black or grey). No customisation (coloured ribbons on top hats, etc.) is permitted. For this we recommend hiring our 100% wool black morning suit.

The other three enclosures have a more relaxed dress code. The Queen Anne Enclosure and the Village Enclosure require a matching suit with a shirt and tie. The Windsor Enclosure does not have a formal dress code; however, smart attire is encouraged.

For each of the latter, lounge suits are acceptable, but you don’t have to stop there. Many guests choose to comply with Royal Enclosure’s formal dress code, regardless of where they may be at the event.

Remember: Royal Ascot is our busiest hirewear period so it's vital to book ahead for your race day needs.

Morning Suits are also avaiableto buy for £889 for three-piece.
